South Africa: Three Arrested in Lusikisiki Mass Shooting

Three people have been arrested in connection with the mass shooting that claimed 18 lives in Lusikisiki and is set to appear in court, reports IOL.

Police Minister Senzo Mchunu confirmed the arrests during the victims' memorial service and said that more arrests were expected.  He added that the arrest of a fourth would be announced soon, as police already knew the name and surname of the person.

The tragic event occurred when gunmen opened fire at two separate homesteads, killing 15 women and three men.

The funerals of the victims will be held from 11 to 13 October.
