The opposition leaders have convened an emergency meeting to determine their response following the recent passage of the controversial Coffee Amendment Bill 2024.
Sources close to the Leader of the Opposition indicate that Joel Ssenyonyi is presiding over the high-stakes discussion.
"We are assessing our options and planning a course of action to address concerns surrounding this bill," an opposition source shared. "The bill's passage has serious implications for Uganda's coffee industry, and we must ensure the interests of farmers and stakeholders are protected."

Once the meeting concludes, the opposition leaders are expected to brief the media on their next steps.
