27 November 2024

Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has pledged support for a group of innovative young people from the Rokoba Group in Lower Madi Constituency.

The group, accompanied by their MP Hon. Afidra Ronald, met with Speaker Among and showcased their creative products made from recycled materials.

"I was impressed by the creativity and resourcefulness of this group," Speaker Among said. "They are truly making a significant impact by transforming old tyres and plastics into shoes, sandals, carpets, and other useful items."

On behalf of Parliament, Speaker Among pledged continued support for the group through budgetary allocations aimed at skilling and empowering the youth. "We want to help them realize their potential and contribute to our nation's development," she said.

The Rokoba Group's innovative approach to recycling and entrepreneurship is a shining example of the potential of Uganda's youth. With the support of Parliament, they are poised to make an even greater impact in their community and beyond.
