- The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe bestowed ranks on 33 newly promoted members of Public Order Policing in a ceremony held at the Landbank building, Limpopo SAPS Provincial Office on Tuesday, 03 December 2024.

The Provincial Commissioner was joined by Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Visible Policing, Major General Jan Scheepers, Provincial Head Human Resources Development, Brigadier Sigage and Provincial Head Corporate Communication Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba.

Among the individuals appointed were two (2) Colonels, five (5) Lieutenant Colonels, fifteen (15) Captains, and seven (7) Warrant officers.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe congratulated the 33 members on their successes and said, "We lift others as we rise, and it would be unfair for me not to recognise the hardworking individuals within our ranks,"

Lieutenant General Hadebe emphasized the weight of responsibility that came with their new positions, challenging them to approach difficulties with impartiality and integrity. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive view and a fair attitude in order to provide excellent leadership.

She quoted a message from Chris Grosser. "Opportunities do not happen; you create them by working hard, determination, and, more importantly, perseverance. It creates the attraction of positive events happening to you."

"We are counting on you, the new leadership, to lead alongside me in my time to make things happen, change the narrative, and change the non-caring attitude that certain POP members have. Let me applaud individuals who maintain a positive attitude in life even when their goals are not met on time. They remain upbeat and are committed to the call of duty and the cause, delivering the outcomes we expect at the end of the day," added Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.
