The Kemet Boutros Ghali Foundation for Peace and Knowledge has honoured Mrs Graça Machel, Founder of the Trust, with its annual award in recognition of her contributions to the African continent.

The Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, Mamdouh Abbas, presented the award and praised Mrs. Machel's humanitarian efforts and her dedication to advancing peace, justice, and human rights across Africa. Although Mrs Machel could not attend the ceremony due to challenges currently facing her home country of Mozambique, she appointed Ms Josina Machel, a member of the Trust's Board of Trustees, to accept the award on her behalf.
