The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Nadiope and Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi used the Christmas holiday to visit Kaynela Farms in Bwamulamira village, Kayonza sub-county, Kayunga district.
The royals were received by Peace Kayesu, Business Lead at Kaynela Farms, and Faizo Serunjogi, the farm's CEO.
They were escorted to a cozy on-farm cottage to prepare for the day's activities.
The visit commenced with a ceremonial welcome in a traditional tent where Promise Kayesu introduced the royals to an iconic piece of Uganda's cultural history the Banyankole wooden milk pots, or Ebyanzi, along with traditional gourds.
These artifacts, displayed with reverence on a special raised step in a corner of the hut, symbolize the richness of Uganda's agrarian heritage.
The Kyabazinka and Inhebantu expressed admiration for the meticulous preservation of cultural artifacts, praising Kaynela Farms for its efforts in integrating agrotourism with cultural education.
Kaynela Farms, under the leadership of Faizo Serunjogi, has emerged as a trailblazer in blending agriculture with tourism, offering visitors a chance to experience farm life while promoting Uganda's agricultural innovation.
The royals toured the farm's diverse projects, including sustainable farming practices, organic produce, and livestock rearing.
Inhebantu Mutesi applauded the farm's eco-friendly approach, emphasizing its potential to inspire other enterprises.
"Kaynela Farms is not just a business; it is a bridge connecting modern agriculture to our rich cultural roots," she remarked.
During their visit, the Kyabazinga reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower rural communities, especially those that enhance food security and create employment opportunities.
In his remarks, Faizo Serunjogi expressed gratitude for the royal visit, highlighting its importance in showcasing Uganda's potential as a global agrotourism destination.
"Hosting His Majesty and Her Royal Highness is a great honor. It inspires us to continue our mission of innovation while staying true to our cultural identity," he said.
The visit concluded with a pledge by Kaynela Farms to expand its reach, ensuring that more Ugandans and international visitors experience the fusion of agriculture, tourism, and culture.
The Kyabazinga commended these efforts, emphasizing the role of such enterprises in promoting national development and preserving Uganda's heritage.
