Nairobi — The Ministry of East African Community (EAC), ASALs, and Regional Development has announced the commencement of reforms in state corporations.
This follows a directive by the Cabinet on February 10.
According to the ministry, the move is anchored on the government's commitment to streamlining and improving the functioning of various development authorities in the country.
The directive outlines a comprehensive schedule of activities to ensure the smooth implementation of the Cabinet's decision.
The reforms aim to enhance efficiency, governance, and service delivery within state corporations.
Principal Secretary Kello Harsama, CBS, has emphasised the importance of swift compliance with the outlined schedule, ensuring that the reforms are implemented without delay.
"We are in receipt of communication vide letter Reference No. DGIPE/A/1/85 "A" (51) dated 5 February, 2025, on the above subject matter with you in copy (attached) for quick reference," read a letter by Kello to stakeholders in part.
"A schedule of activities has been made, in order to smoothly implement the cabinet decision on the reforms."
The reforms are part of the government's ongoing efforts to foster sustainable regional development and ensure that the various state corporations play a crucial role in the economic growth of the country.
