Uganda: President Museveni's Wealth Creation Campaign Launched in Greater Masaka

31 March 2025

The State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye, officially launched President Museveni's presidential wealth creation campaign in Greater Masaka, aimed at empowering locals and sensitizing them on poverty alleviation strategies.

The launch event took place at Buyoga Trading Center in Masaka City, with a call to action for residents to take advantage of the peaceful environment to drive personal and community development.

"We must harness this peaceful environment to develop ourselves and fully support government initiatives," Barekye urged.

As part of the campaign, Barekye also donated thousands of coffee seedlings to residents of Masaka, Bukomansimbi, and neighboring areas, highlighting their role in household empowerment and poverty reduction.

Ruth Katushabe, Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, also rallied support for President Museveni's 2026 election bid, emphasizing the President's ongoing efforts to empower the region through various programs.

"President Museveni is returning in 2026, and we urge you to show your massive support," Katushabe said.

Col. Hasan Samba, the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinator for Greater Masaka, hinted at additional initiatives coming from President Museveni's office to further support the region's development.

"More initiatives are on the way from President Museveni's office to aid wealth creation and promote regional development," Samba confirmed.

The launch of the wealth creation campaign marks a significant step in President Museveni's continued commitment to empowering Ugandans and fostering sustainable development in the region.
