The African Development Bank Group, in collaboration with the African Union Commission and the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa's Development (AUDA-NEPAD) will host a high-level side event during the 2025 International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Spring Meetings on "Accelerating Africa's Development in a Multipolar World" on 25 April 2025. The session will present the Report on the "Strategic Framework on Key Actions to Achieve Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development in Africa."

The Report, produced jointly by the African Development Bank Group, the African Union Commission, and the African Union Development Agency - New Partnership for Africa's Development, identifies key strategic actions to more than double Africa's annual GDP growth to 7-10 percent--the threshold required to achieve the goal of Africa's Agenda 2063.

The event comes against a background of shifting global order towards multipolarity, characterised by the emergence of multiple centres of economic, political, and technological power. In addition to sharing the Report's findings with key stakeholders, the session will also explore strategies and policies for accelerating Africa's development in a multi-polar world.
