Apart from using her name, the account uses her photos as its cover photo and profile picture.
The account features the name Inua Jamii, implying this is the source of the loans. Inua Jamii is a Kenyan government programme that gives cash grants to poor and vulnerable people. It's Kiswahili for "uplift the community".
It claims the loans can be used for business, school fees, rent, emergencies and more.
It asks interested users to call or send a WhatsApp message to the number provided. Unsuspecting users have flooded the comments section with enquiries and applications.
But can this account and its offers be trusted? We checked.
Scam offers
The account claims that the loans are from Inua Jamii. However, the programme does not give out loans and it is managed by a state department, not politicians. This is the first clue that we are dealing with a scam.
Despite the account claiming to run Inua Jamii activities, it doesn't link to the programme's official website. The phone number it has provided cannot be found on the programme's website or Facebook page. This is another sign that it is not legitimate.
Wanga's official page is Governor Gladys Wanga. It is verified by Meta and has over 526,000 followers. There are no loan offers on her verified page.
The account offering the loans is an imposter, and its offers are scams.
