The African Development Bank Group and the South Africa G20 Presidency cordially invite you to a joint event titled: "G20 Africa Expert Panel Engagement with Stakeholders", to be held on the sidelines of 2025 AfDB Annual Meetings.
Date: Wednesday, 28th May 2025
Time: 02:00 - 04:00 GMT
Venue : Salle des Fêtes, Sofitel Hotel, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire
This side event will explore options to strengthen collaboration between Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to increase accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness of their operations.
This requires shifting from project-based approaches to programmatic ones, improving the integration of financing, policy, and technical assistance, and strengthening partnership coordination at the country and institutional levels.
The discussions will also reflect Africa's policy priorities for global economic reform and resilience-building, including the need for more inclusive and representative financial architecture.
The event will define strategies to advance Africa's collective developmental interests through increased voice, effective representation, proposals to reform the international financial architecture and strengthen the global financial safety net in a manner that supports the continent and the achievement of a reformed and all-inclusive global economic policy through the G20.
The high-level forum will bring together senior government representatives of African governments, MDBs, DFIs, private sector stakeholders, and key development partners like G20 countries to the African Development Fund (ADF).
