Two men have been remanded to prison until May 26th, 2025, following their appearance before the Kajjansi Chief Magistrate's Court on charges stemming from a violent land-related incident in Wakiso District.
Elly Ssembuze and Vicent Miyingo were arraigned earlier today in a joint operation by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit (@AntiGraft_SH), the Criminal Investigations Directorate (@CID1_UG), and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (@ODPPUGANDA).
According to the prosecution, the incident took place on the night of April 6, 2025, in Namulanda Ward, Kajjansi Town Council, where the accused -- reportedly accompanied by armed personnel -- unlawfully descended on the home of Robert Twambale and his family.
The group allegedly demolished a residential house, destroyed other structures including a poultry house and pigsty, and made off with several household items.

The case is rooted in a long-standing land dispute involving 2.6 acres in Namulanda. The land is claimed by the family of the late Bethuel Nsubuga -- Twambale's father -- and is contested by the family of the late Cyprian Ssemwanga, who are alleged to have ties to the suspects.
Authorities have charged the duo with malicious damage to property and theft, with investigations indicating that the night-time raid was not only unlawful but intended to violently displace Twambale's family, who have lived on the land for over three decades.
The court ordered the remand of Ssembuze and Miyingo as investigations continue.
Prosecutors maintain that the suspects' actions amount to criminal force in a civil matter and represent a growing pattern of land-related violence in rapidly urbanizing districts like Wakiso.
The case returns to court on May 26.
