I am a young Sudanese man, raised on the banks of the Nile —
where civilizations meet,
and dreams collide with harsh realities.

Since childhood, I have heard people speak of a “wounded Africa,”
a colonized, divided, marginalized continent.
But I have never accepted that description.

I joined Africans Rising because I believe Africa is not a victim —
it is a giant awakening.
I believe unity is strength,
and borders are just lines on maps, not on our hearts.

I dream of an Africa where young people move freely,
where they express their creativity without fear,
where they fight for environmental justice,
raise the voices of their women,
and build economies that honor the dignity of their people.

The Africa I dream of is a borderless Africa,
one that embraces its diaspora,
one that remembers the past but looks forward.

I joined because I want to be part of this rising,
part of this hope,
part of this peaceful revolution.

I am a Sudanese young man,
but I am also African.
My voice, my story, my struggle — they all belong to this greater dream:
Africa for Africans.
