Kenya: Minet Targets Eldoret's Booming SME Sector With New Office

Eldoret — Minet, a leading risk management and insurance advisory firm, has unveiled a new full-service branch in Eldoret as part of a strategic move to tap into the town's fast-growing small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) ecosystem.

The relocation comes in response to Eldoret's elevation to city status, which has accelerated business activity, infrastructure development, and population growth.

Eldoret now boasts over 44,000 registered businesses, with around 25,000 actively operating--85 percent of them classified as micro enterprises.

This dynamic environment, driven by growth in agribusiness, logistics, real estate, manufacturing, and professional services, positions the city as a key economic hub in Kenya's Rift Valley region.

Speaking at the launch, Minet CEO Sammy Muthui said the firm aims to become a long-term advisor to SMEs by offering tailored solutions that go beyond traditional insurance.

"Eldoret's SME ecosystem presents an exciting frontier. We are positioning ourselves as lifetime risk advisors to businesses that will shape Kenya's future economy," he said.

The new branch will offer products such as health cover, corporate risk advisory, employee benefits, and a flagship Business All-Risk policy designed specifically for SMEs.

To deepen its local footprint, Minet will partner with forums and exhibitions that connect entrepreneurs to markets and investors.

The office launch included a golf tournament and gala dinner, signaling the firm's commitment to building strong community and business relationships beyond insurance.
