Kenya: Blow to Kamanguya As ICT Authority Advertises CEO's Post

Nairobi — ICT Authority is looking to fill the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) office after the sacking of Stanley Kamanguya last week.

In an advertisement, the Authority said that the new CEO will offer strategic leadership and direction.

The officeholder must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in fields such as information communication technology, finance, law, or any other related field from a recognised institution.

He or she should also have a leadership course lasting not less than four weeks as well as a professional body membership, among other requirements.

The recruitment process comes after the ICT Authority on July 1, 2025, terminated Kamanguya's role as CEO, whose Board had initially recommended his reappointment for a new term starting next month, citing procedural irregularities in the process.

One of the reasons for his termination was the submission of the CEO position reappointment way beyond the six-month deadline set by the public service guidelines.

However, it came after the High Court stopped the ICT Authority from discussing his replacement until a petition was determined and heard yesterday.
