Uganda: Adrine Kobusingye Courts Busoga Support in Bid for NRM Women's League Chair

Ms. Adrine Kobusingye, a prominent businesswoman from Bushenyi District spent the better part of Monday in Busoga speaking to women as she explained to them her bid for NRM National Women's League.

Kobusingye was early this month nominated by the NRM electoral commission for the position of National Women's League Chairperson.

Speaking to women from across districts, the aspirant laid her strategy to change the NRM Women's League for the better.

"The journey to equality for Ugandan women has many challenges, including deeply ingrained societal norms that favor male leadership and unequal access to opportunities. Many women face significant obstacles in their pursuit of economic independence, political participation, and social mobility. This is what I want to change," Kobusingye told the women.

She said she would be willing to mentor and empower young women entrepreneurs through inspiring mindset change and informed decision making.

During the interaction, the ladies shared some of the pressing challenges they face in their region, including limited access to resources and economic opportunities to social injustices.

Speaking in response, Kobusingye said she has "viable solutions" to address these issues.

"With my wealth of experience and proven track record, I promise to empower all women across the country, particularly in areas where they have ben marginalized. My vision is for a more inclusive and equitable society ."
