Uganda: Three Dead in Mukono Road Crash Involving Bus and Parked Truck

17 August 2025

Mukono Police Division is investigating a deadly crash that occurred on August 16, 2025, at around 9:40 PM near Nkokonjeru Center along the Kisoga-Nkokonjeru Road. The accident claimed three lives:

  • Samson Olaki, a male adult passenger in the bus
  • Emily Nasali, a passenger in a Toyota Sienta motor vehicle
  • Carol, a passenger in the same Toyota Sienta motor vehicle

The incident allegedly happened when a bus with registration number UAL 770L, traveling from Kisoga to Nkokonjeru, collided with a parked Canter truck (UAG 723G) facing Nkokonjeru.

The bus then lost control and collided with an oncoming motor vehicle (UBK 901Z) heading towards Kisoga, resulting in the deaths of the three passengers.

Police have attributed the accident to an obstacle on the carriageway. Authorities visited the scene, drew a rough sketch plan, and towed the vehicles to Kisoga Police Yard for further investigation.

The deceased were taken to Kawolo Hospital for post-mortem examinations. The drivers involved are still at large, and inquiries are ongoing.
