The Minister of State for Transport, Fred Byamukama, has praised Dr Richard Lubega for promoting wealth creation in Kibaale District through a four-acre modal farming system, urging residents to emulate his dedication and modern agricultural practices.
"I have toured Dr. Lubega's Buseesa demonstration farm, which includes fish farming, apiary, poultry, dairy cattle, rabbit rearing, piggery, banana plantations, coffee, and Hass avocado," said Byamukama.
"On his four-acre plot in Buseesa trading center, he earns an approximate net profit of Shs34 million per month and has created jobs for over 40 youths.
He is also developing a medical center from the proceeds of his enterprises."

Byamukama noted that Dr Lubega gave up hunting for a government job and used government wealth creation funding to establish his farming ventures.
In just 10 years, he has built a health facility and eight profitable enterprises generating over Shs280 million annually--far more than a typical government salary.
The Minister encouraged graduates to focus on creating jobs rather than chasing white-collar employment for sustainable livelihoods.
The Minister made the remarks on Saturday while reviewing the progress, successes, and challenges of Kibaale modal farmers who have benefited from government initiatives including Wealth Creation, Parish Development Modal funds, Emyooga, and the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Program.
Byamukama highlighted the benefits of the four-acre modal farming system, advising that farmers can start small with one acre and diversify into piggery, poultry, dairy, horticulture, aquaculture, and crop cultivation.
He urged residents to adopt modern farming methods and not fear taking risks.
He also warned public officials against misusing government programs such as Parish Development Modal funds, Emyooga, and Grow, saying: "Any public servant at district, sub-county, or parish level who extorts money from beneficiaries will face arrest and prosecution."
Byamukama emphasized that President Museveni has been actively promoting these programs nationwide and that government monitors are ensuring compliance.
Dr. Lubega, a resident of Buseesa Village in Matale sub-county, holds a Bachelor's degree in Medicine from Makerere University.
He began his projects in 2014 and received Operation Wealth Creation funding in 2021 to establish the Buseesa demonstration farm and a medical center, employing over 40 people and generating Shs280 million annually.
"I earn a net profit of Shs34 million per month and Shs280 million per year from my diversified enterprises. My farm extends to 5.5 acres and includes 3,584 layers producing 75 trays of eggs daily, 46 pigs, 6,000 fingerlings, as well as rabbits, dairy cattle, apiary, bananas, coffee, and Hass avocado. I have also innovated biogas production, synergistic waste recycling, silage making, and maize processing," Dr Lubega explained.
Kibaale Deputy RDC, Godfrey Kamagara, reaffirmed the government's commitment to wealth creation through programs like PDM, Emyooga, Grow, and the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Program.
He praised Dr Lubega for transforming the district from subsistence farming to modern agriculture and noted the involvement of higher institutions such as Makerere University, African Rural University, Kampala University, Mountains of the Moon University, Mubende Polytechnic Institute, and Birembo War Memorial Institute in benefiting from his demonstration farm and health centre.
