Addis Ababa — The Heads of State and Government of Africa and the Caribbean highly praised the efforts of the African Climate Commissions in coordinating the implementation of Africa's response to climate change, notably the Commission of the Congo Basin, the Commission for the Sahel region, and the Commission for African Island States, which stemmed from the High Royal Initiatives launched at the African Action Summit held on the sidelines of COP22 in Marrakech.

This recognition was highlighted in the joint communiqué of the 2nd Africa-CARICOM Summit, in the section devoted to resilience in the face of sustainable development challenges.

In this regard, the Summit also welcomed the achievements made within the framework of the African Adaptation Initiative, the Africa Renewable Energy Initiative, and the Initiative for the Adaptation of African Agriculture.

Morocco is taking part in this Summit with a delegation led by its Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, Mohammed Arrouchi.
