The Archdeacon of Busimbi in Mityana Diocese, Ven. Rev. Fredrick Kironde, has expressed concern over the growing habit among young people of spending money recklessly on non-productive activities, leaving many trapped in financial struggles.

Rev. Kironde made the remarks during a special thanksgiving service for the ongoing construction of All Saints Church Myanzi, a project being spearheaded by youth under the Christian Youth Fellowship of Busimbi Archdeaconry.

"It saddens me to see our young people wasting their hard-earned money on things that don't build their lives or their communities. This kind of lifestyle only leaves them in poverty and regret," Rev. Kironde noted. "We want our youth to channel their energy and resources into constructive projects like church building, education, and community development."

The service attracted several dignitaries, including Mukwenda Deo Kagimu, the Kabaka's representative in Ssingo County, who commended the youth for leading the church construction project.

"The future of our country lies in the hands of young people. I encourage you to take the lead in initiatives that transform your communities instead of being drawn into destructive habits," Kagimu said, urging the youth to value discipline and unity.

Members of the Christian Youth Fellowship, who mobilised resources for the church project, also used the occasion to encourage their peers to embrace good morals, hard work, and togetherness.

The Archdeacon and local leaders jointly applauded the youth for their effort, calling it a model for other parishes in the region.

They also urged parents and community members to guide young people in making choices that foster development and self-reliance.
