South Africa: Select Committee On Finance to Conduct Oversight Visit to North West

The Select Committee on Finance will from tomorrow, 20 October 2025, embark on a two-day oversight visit to North West where it will focus on the provincial departments of finance and economic development and their entities.

The committee will be based in Mmabatho, Bojanala Platinum District, and its programme will commence with a walkabout at the Golden Leopard Resort. It will be briefed on the state of provincial entities by the Auditor-General of South Africa, provincial and national treasury, the Department of Economic Development and its entities.

Those entities are North West's development corporation, housing corporation

parks and tourism board, gambling board, transport investment along with Mmabana Arts and Culture, and Sports Foundation.

The committee will also conduct site inspections at some active projects, including Mafikeng Airport, Mmabatho Nursing College, Road D933 and part of Road D2095 to Road P183/1.
