22 October 2025

The Indian community in Uganda came together in large numbers at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Sunday to celebrate Diwali -- the festival of lights -- in a colourful and joyous gathering.

Radiowalla, Uganda's first Indian radio station, exclusively available on AfroMobile, joined the celebrations to capture the colour, energy, and unity that defined the evening.

The event featured a spectacular fireworks display, traditional music, and captivating cultural dances that lit up the night. Families and friends shared laughter, delicious Indian cuisine, and heartfelt moments, creating a vibrant atmosphere that truly embodied the essence of Diwali, light triumphing over darkness.

Diwali, one of the most important festivals in the Indian calendar, remains a timeless celebration of hope, renewal, and togetherness. In Uganda, its growing observance reflects the strong cultural bonds and enduring sense of community among the Indian diaspora, a spirit that Radiowalla continues to amplify through its platform
