Mujjukwa said his campaign will focus on amplifying the voices of Rubaga North residents in parliament, criticizing past MPs for being silent on issues affecting the community.
"Our people will no longer wait in silence for their concerns to be addressed. Rubaga North will speak, and I will ensure its voice is heard in every decision made in parliament," he said.
To strengthen citizen participation, Mujjukwa plans to revive community barazas -- traditional forums where residents can express challenges, propose solutions, and engage directly with their leaders.
He emphasized that these meetings will serve as a bridge between the people and parliament, ensuring that local concerns are reflected in national policymaking.
Education is a central pillar of Mujjukwa's campaign. He pledged to lobby for better school infrastructure, increased funding, and support for teachers, ensuring that every child in Rubaga North has access to quality learning.
"Schools should be centers of excellence, not struggle. Every child deserves a chance to succeed, and that starts with proper resources, classrooms, and dedicated teachers," Mujjukwa said.
He also promised to support teachers through training, improved working conditions, and performance incentives.
On youth empowerment, Mujjukwa outlined strategies to stimulate local economic growth, create jobs, and support entrepreneurs and small businesses.
"Our youth are talented, but too many lack opportunities. My mission is to open doors for them -- places where they can learn, create, and showcase their skills on national, regional, and international stages," he added.
Mujjukwa also promised to prioritize community security, pledging to work with local leaders and law enforcement to enhance street lighting, strengthen neighborhood watch groups, and reduce crime.
"The safety of every family in Rubaga North is non-negotiable. We will work with law enforcement, neighborhood watch groups, and local leaders to create a safe environment where people can thrive," he said.
He further committed to supporting vulnerable groups, including the elderly, youth, and persons with disabilities, through programs promoting healthcare, financial assistance, and social inclusion.
"Our society is only as strong as its most vulnerable members. In Rubaga North, no one will be left behind," Mujjukwa said.
Mujjukwa emphasized that his decision to run as an independent candidate stems from a desire to serve people, not political parties.
"This candle is a symbol of clarity, hope, and guidance. As an independent candidate, my allegiance is to you, the people of Rubaga North, and not to any political party. My focus is your development and your voice," he stated.
Residents at the nomination event expressed optimism about his message of empowerment and accountability, while social media buzzed with praise for his community-centered approach.
"Finally, a candidate who listens to the people! David Mujjukwa's candle will light our path," one supporter posted online.
Mujjukwa will face off against NUP's Abubaker Kawalya, NRM's Singh Katongole, and Democratic Front's Robert Mukiibi in what is expected to be a highly competitive Rubaga North parliamentary race.
