Kampala Central Member of Parliament aspirant Abraham Luzzi, popularly known as "Mr Economy," has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Uganda's political landscape through a digital-first approach to campaigning and leadership.
Speaking to journalist Canary Mugume during NBS Face Off on Sunday, Luzzi described himself as "the most understood and realistic politician of this modern, digital era," emphasizing that his campaign would depart from traditional crowd-based politics in favour of digital engagement and efficiency.
"The world is going digital, and I completely object to the ordinary, loitering kind of campaigns. I want to set a new yardstick and benchmark with this campaign. I believe I am currently the most popular candidate not only in Kampala, but in the whole of Uganda and beyond," Luzzi said.
Citing his academic background in Digital Transformation, Luzzi argued that Uganda's political practices must adapt to global trends. He criticized traditional campaign methods as outdated and time-wasting, calling instead for innovation and productivity.

"People waste a lot of time on traditional campaign methods. I object to seeing youths moving around following politicians in crowds. They should be working instead. That's why I say: stay at your workplace or your place of convenience and receive my message through digital platforms," he said.
If elected, Luzzi said he intends to challenge long-standing political practices--beginning with Uganda's costly by-election system.
"I am completely against by-elections. In the event that a member dies, the candidate who came second should take over to save public funds," he said.
Luzzi further emphasized that Uganda's socio-economic challenges stem from deep historical roots rather than individual leadership failures.
He called for unity, innovation, and the optimal use of national resources to drive sustainable development.
"I am not the cause of the challenges people are facing. Uganda's problems have deep origins that affect us all. The reason I have come to stand is to explore and apply our resources and knowledge, rather than blame those already in leadership positions," he said.
Despite his bold and independent campaign style, Luzzi maintains that his political approach is both structured and collaborative.
"I am not running a one-man show; this is a complete strategy. I have invisible agents because I don't believe in exposing all my techniques," he said, adding that his campaign is rooted in integrity, planning, and innovation.
Born to Hajj Badru Kafuuma of Kakiri Luwaga in Wakiso District and the late Hadijah Nantaba of Gomba District, Luzzi attended SOS Hermann Gmeiner Schools, Kawempe Muslim, Mityana Secondary, and Lubiri Secondary School.
He initially trained in Orthopedic Medicine before pivoting to business studies and graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from Nkumba University. He is currently pursuing a Law Degree at Victoria University.
Outside politics, Luzzi is a successful entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Director of Ssebo Food Industries Uganda Ltd, producers of Ssebo Pure Maize Flour, and Ssebo Pure Gold and Jewelry Center at Serena Hotel Kampala.
His company, Ssebo International Group, operates in DR Congo, South Africa, USA, Canada, UK, China, and the UAE.
A strong advocate for youth empowerment, Luzzi also runs a sports academy in Hammersmith, London, focused on nurturing young Ugandan talent. His previous role as Marketing and Sales Manager and Head of Public Relations for the Uganda Police Football Club highlights his long-standing involvement in community development and sports.
Known for his humor, humility, and the viral catchphrase "Sarah is tall"--a lighthearted nod to his wife, Sarah Luzzi--the aspirant has built an authentic personal brand that resonates with the youth and urban voters. His relatable social media presence and clear messaging have positioned him as a modern, reform-minded voice in Ugandan politics.
Luzzi began his political journey as a mobilizer for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Mityana and Mubende, later contesting the Mityana Municipality seat in 2021, which he lost to NUP's Francis Zaake. He briefly joined the Democratic Party (DP) before choosing to run as an independent in his current bid for Kampala Central.
As the 2026 General Elections draw near, Luzzi faces competition from National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, Kampala Minister Minsa Kabanda of the NRM, Uganda Boxing Federation President Moses Muhangi, and Suzan Kushaba--all vying to succeed outgoing MP Muhammad Nsereko, who has represented the constituency since 2011.
Yet, Luzzi's growing popularity among voters seeking transparency, entrepreneurship, and pragmatic leadership has made him a formidable contender.
"I love competing with the best because I am also the best. I believe in fair competition and respect every opponent. You still have a chance to choose me as your candidate for your own betterment. Uganda has played cheap and fake politics for too long -- I'm here to encourage healing, forgiveness, and a new beginning," he said.
To his supporters, Abraham Luzzi represents a new brand of Ugandan politics--one built on digital innovation, economic empowerment, and authenticity.
His message remains simple but compelling: leadership that listens, innovates, and delivers.
