Uganda: Basajjabalaba's Mother Dies in Germany

Hajjat Azida Nanteza Basajjabalaba, mother of NRM vice chairman for the entrepreneurs league, Hajj Hassan Basajjabalaba, has died in Germany after a period of illness, the family has confirmed.

According to the Basajjabalaba family, Hajjat Basajjabalaba passed away on Monday evening in Cologne, Germany.

While the family did not disclose the cause of death, sources close to them indicated that she, who was in her 80s, had been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

In a condolence message issued by Kampala International University (KIU), where Hajj Basajjabalaba serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees, the institution expressed deep sorrow over her passing.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hajjat Azida Basajjabalaba, mother of our esteemed Chairman, Board of Trustees, Hajj Dr Hassan Basajjabalaba," KIU said in a statement.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be communicated by the family.
