As election campaigns enter the second week, local council one (LC1) chairpersons across Bujenje County have raised concerns they hope will be addressed during the upcoming parliamentary term.

These issues have been highlighted during the ongoing campaign trail for the incumbent Bujenje County Member of Parliament and NRM flag bearer, Kenneth Kiiza Nyendwooha.

John Asaba, LC1 chairperson for Kyamukudumi village, acknowledged that development is underway but pointed out persistent challenges in electricity and water supply.

Sedrack Besigaki, LC1 chairperson for Kinenabuheere village, praised efforts by the area MP but noted inadequate power distribution and the limited number of schools, which has reduced school enrollment in the area.

Pascal Isingoma Agaba, LC1 chairperson for Kyamarolere village, urged residents to maintain peace and vote wisely to ensure effective leadership and service delivery.

Rwentale village LC1 chairperson highlighted the high levels of school dropouts and rising illiteracy due to the lack of educational facilities in the area.

Godfrey Bigabwenkya, LC1 chairperson for Kaiha village, thanked residents who elected leaders capable of delivering services and called for civic education on electoral processes to ensure transparent and effective elections.

Responding to these concerns, Kenneth Nyendwooha emphasized that the government has introduced several interventions aimed at addressing community challenges. He confirmed that the electricity intensification program is ongoing and urged residents to be patient and supportive as it reaches different areas.
