The 2024 African Philanthropy Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to Dr. Tade Akin Aina in recognition of his lifelong dedication to using his extensive experience and expertise to advance a more equitable and sustainable world.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Aina has made significant contributions to the philanthropic sector, leaving an indelible mark and making him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award.

Currently, Dr. Aina serves as the Chief Impact and Research Officer at the Mastercard Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in the world, which aims to build a world where all people can learn and prosper. The Mastercard Foundation is enabling pathways to work and economic opportunity for Indigenous youth in Canada and millions of young people in Africa.

Prior to revealing the winner of the year, we were graced to listen to H.E Graça Machel who gave an inspiring speech on the giving and caring in the African way.

TrustAfrica began in 2006 with the conviction that Africans must set the agenda for tackling our continent's most pressing challenges. We are an independent philanthropy rooted on the continent, and this is central to what we do and also how we do it.
