President Museveni has officially launched his campaign in the Rwenzori Sub-region, beginning with a rally in Kasese District, where he reassured residents of continued peace and development.

Speaking alongside NRM leaders, Museveni highlighted ongoing and planned infrastructure projects, including the repair of the old railway line from Malaba and the construction of a new Standard Gauge Railway through Kasese.

He also announced plans to build an international airport to boost tourism and open up the Rwenzori corridor.

The President reiterated seven key contributions that the NRM has made to Uganda over the past 40 years, emphasizing the importance of prioritisation in development.

"Some leaders want to touch everything at once, but prioritisation is how we built key roads in Kasese and across Uganda," he said.

Museveni acknowledged the need for more road machinery in Kasese and promised to increase resources to the district.

On electricity, he highlighted that all districts now have power except Buvuma Island and affirmed the government's commitment to extending electricity to every sub-county.

Museveni concluded his remarks with the Runyankore blessing, "Mwasinje Kutsibu", wishing prosperity for the people of Kasese.
