Nairobi — Kenya will host the Global Conservation Tech & Drone Forum (GCTDF 2026) from March 2 to 6, 2026, with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) confirmed as the official conservation partner.
The forum will be held in Nairobi and Konza Technopolis and will bring together rangers, community leaders, technologists, researchers, policymakers and youth from Africa and beyond to explore the use of technology in protecting biodiversity and restoring ecosystems.
Themed "Technology in Service of Nature: Protecting Wildlife, Supporting People, Restoring Ecosystems," GCTDF 2026 will focus on the application of drones, satellite sensors, artificial intelligence, geographic information systems (GIS) and data-driven tools in wildlife protection, anti-poaching efforts, habitat restoration and community resilience.
KWS said the partnership aligns with its 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, which prioritises sustainable, inclusive and community-centred conservation.

Through the collaboration, KWS will provide expert insights on Kenya's ecosystems and conservation challenges, participate in live demonstrations of drone and data technologies for wildlife monitoring and surveillance, and engage with global stakeholders to advance ethical and scalable conservation solutions.
The Service will also use the platform to showcase Kenya's conservation efforts and its commitment to science-led and innovative natural resource management.
KWS noted that modern conservation increasingly depends on the integration of technology, data and collaboration alongside traditional ranger-led protection, to secure wildlife and ecosystems for future generations.
