One of the parents of the deceased described the incident as a devastating shock to the family, recounting how she received the heartbreaking news.
Amos Mwesigwa, a brother to both Ivan Niwagaba and Sayuni Turihonabwe, said he learned about the tragedy through the internet while asleep at his home and initially struggled to believe the reports.
"The deceased were hardworking people. My brothers were living in Kampala, where they were engaged in different businesses," Mwesigwa said.
In his sermon, Bishop Akajuna commended the Uganda Police Force for their swift response following the accident and for helping to clear the scene.
"Let us all join our hands and clap for the Uganda Police for the quick action they took in removing the bodies from the roadside," Bishop Akajuna said.
He also called on Christians to live in harmony with one another and to support grieving families during difficult times.
The burial ended with prayers and words of comfort for the bereaved family.
