Nairobi — Farmer's Choice Limited has achieved the internationally recognised Food Safety System Certification (FSSC) 22000 Version 6, reinforcing its commitment to producing high-quality, traceable and safe meat products.
The certification, issued by Bureau Veritas, confirms that the company's food safety management systems meet global benchmarks recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It covers the entire value chain, from sourcing and production to packaging and distribution.
The milestone strengthens Farmer's Choice's position in both local and international markets, while embedding continuous improvement through rigorous monitoring, auditing and process controls.
"Food safety is foundational to who we are," said Chief Executive Officer Felisters Gitau Mutugu. "This certification validates the systems, people and discipline behind our farm-to-table model and reassures consumers that our products meet the highest global standards."
Bureau Veritas Country Chair for Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda, Cyprian Kabbis, said FSSC 22000 is among the most comprehensive food safety schemes globally, requiring strong governance, risk-based controls and continuous improvement.
Beyond consumer confidence, the certification underscores Farmer's Choice's leadership in food safety across Africa's meat value chain and aligns with its broader sustainability goals, including responsible sourcing, ethical production and full traceability from farm to table.
