Uganda: Parliament Pays Tribute to Late Ngora Woman MP Stella Apolot Isodo

21 January 2026

Parliament has eulogized the late Ngora District Woman MP Stella Apolot Isodo, highlighting her contributions as a promoter of unity and an accomplished agriculturalist.

The Leader of the Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, described Isodo as a champion of free and fair elections, the rule of law, and human rights.

"She desired a country that respects the rule of law and human rights," Ssenyonyi said while seconding a motion to pay tribute to the fallen legislator.

State Minister for Fisheries Hellen Adoa praised Isodo as a promoter of unity and passionate about agriculture. "She was a gentle soul who desired a democratic country," Adoa said.

Ssenyonyi also called on Parliament to demand accountability for the 2026 general elections, citing concerns over voter intimidation and violence.

Isodo is the seventh legislator to pass away in the 11th Parliament. Her legacy as a reliable leader, agriculturalist, and advocate for cooperatives will be remembered.
