Relations between the two countries reached one of their highest moments, in 2023, with the visit to Angola of King Felipe VI, marked by the signing of several legal instruments, with emphasis on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Venâncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy and the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain.
Two other Memorandums of Understanding were also signed, namely on cooperation in the field of Industry (between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Angola and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain) and in the field of Sports.
Bilateral relations between Angola and the Kingdom of Spain are based on the General Cooperation Agreement, signed on May 20, 1987, and the Complementary Agreement to the General Agreement signed in November 1987.
