Police have carried out more disruptive operations targeting criminals in Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Rachael Kawala, in Entebbe, Police, together with the UPDF in the wee hours of today morning carried out an operation in the areas of Kasenyi where 92 suspects were apprehended from one of the crime spots in the area.
She said the area in which the suspects were is notorious for hobouring criminals who gather, before waylaying members of the public and rob them.

"Some of the suspects were found with opium.The arrested suspects were charged under SD ref.03/18/02/2026 and are currently detained at Entebbe CPS pending prosecution," Kawala said.
In another operation in Kabowa, Rubaga division, 11 suspects were apprehended following foot patrols carried out by police in hot spots in the area.
She said these were also found in possession of narcotic drugs and will soon be presented to courts of law.
Another operation carried out in Mulimira Zone by the Kira Road Police has led to the arrest of 25 suspects.
The Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson said the operation carried out of Tuesday targeted individuals who frequent opium smoking places and later on attack unsuspecting members of the public in traffic jam and those using feeder roads,
"During the operation, a total of 25suspects were arrested and are being detained at Kira road police division pending fingerprinting and later will be aligned in courts of law," Kawala said.
She said police will continue carried out disruptive and intelligence-led operations to clean the city of criminals.
The development comes on the backdrop of outcries by the members of the public over a surge in crime within the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area in the last two months.
However security has allayed fears of the members of the public, saying they are on top of the situation.
To this, a number of suspects have been arrested and many of them have confessed to participating in these crimes and majority have since been arraigned in courts of law.
