Africa: AUC Chairperson This Morning Held a Consultative Meeting With the Bureau of the AU Staff Association to Advance Dialogue On Staff Welfare & Institutional Reform

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, this morning held a consultative meeting with the Bureau of the AU Staff Association to advance dialogue on staff welfare & institutional reform.

The President of the Staff Association, Mr. Nouhou Thiam, & members of his Bureau briefed the Chairperson on key issues relating to staff welfare, & ongoing reform processes. They welcomed the reforms underway & expressed appreciation for the Chairperson's inclusive & consultative leadership approach, noting that sustained engagement between leadership & staff has already yielded positive outcomes.

The Chairperson underscored that the strength & credibility of the Commission rests on its people, & emphasised that staff welfare & institutional effectiveness are mutually reinforcing pillars of a high-performing Commission.

H.E. Mr. Youssouf reassured the Bureau that the reform agenda is guided by the objective of enhancing delivery, strengthening accountability, & reinforcing the Commission's credibility. He reaffirmed leadership's commitment to fairness, transparency, & integrity in all processes.

The Chairperson encouraged the continuation of structured, solution-oriented dialogue as a cornerstone of collaborative leadership & a shared commitment to building a resilient & results-driven institution.
