Police in Wakiso have arrested three suspects in connection with a spate of motorcycle robberies and recovered 10 suspected stolen motorcycles during an intelligence-led operation.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachael Kawala, the arrests followed a reported case of aggravated robbery earlier this month.
"On 13/02/2026 at about 2200 hours, Ssesanga Equiam reported a case of aggravated robbery involving his motorcycle, registration UMA 191 DV (Bajaj Boxer)," she said.
The attackers, who were allegedly armed with pangas, forcefully robbed the victim of his motorcycle. Acting on intelligence, police tracked down and arrested the suspects from Old Kampala in the Bukesa-Nankulabye area, where 10 suspected stolen motorcycles were recovered.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to involvement in motorcycle robberies, highway phone snatching, housebreaking, theft and related criminal activities.
The recovered motorcycles include registration numbers UDH 516H, UGB 248V, UEV 046C, UDH 746H, UDK 657F and UDN 001C, in addition to four numberless Bajaj motorcycles.
Kawala said investigations into the matter are ongoing as police work to identify additional victims and determine whether the suspects are linked to a wider criminal network operating within the Kampala Metropolitan region.
