Uganda: Nadiope Iv Boys Dormitory Commissioned As Spack Celebrates 10 Years of Academic Excellence in Namutumba

St. Patrick Secondary School Nabisoigi (SPACK) in Kibaale Town Council marked a decade of academic excellence and regional transformation with the commissioning of the new Nadiope IV Boys Dormitory.

The milestone event brought together leaders from the Busoga Kingdom, local government officials, clergy, parents, and the wider community in a celebration of education, culture, and progress.

Founded in 2014 by Director Julius Mwanja and his wife Annette Katono, SPACK was born from a vision to provide quality, affordable education in the Busiki Chiefdom.

Over the past decade, the school has expanded from a single-acre plot to an 8-acre campus and has consistently ranked as the top-performing school in Namutumba District, featuring among the top 120 schools nationally.

The commissioning of the Nadiope IV Boys Dormitory marks a significant step in SPACK's continued growth. In addition, several student houses were named after Busoga traditional chiefs - Kisiki, Nkono, Zibondo, and Gabula - fostering students' connection to their heritage.

The celebrations were graced by the 2nd Deputy Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom, Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor, who delivered a powerful message centered on the Kingdom's "Education is the Master Key" initiative.

Alhaj Osman highlighted the role of Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV in promoting the Abasada N'empango program, which engages men and boys in ending teenage pregnancy and child marriage.

During the event, he officially launched SPACK's Empango Club, aimed at championing these values within the school. He further reinforced the Kingdom's commitment by donating 10 iPads to SPACK's ICT center and encouraged government support for private educational institutions.

"When I see these young ladies and boys singing about ending early pregnancy, it gives me hope. Let us keep our children in school until they complete their studies," he said.

Former East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Bernard Mulengani motivated students to embrace their potential, emphasizing that background does not define destiny.

"It does not matter what you are now; it only matters what you will be in the future. Success is determined by merit, not your background," he told learners.

Representing the Bishop of Central Busoga Diocese, Rt Rev Patrick Wakula, the Diocesan Secretary Rev. Canon Patrick Kemba commended the school's leadership for their dedication to the community. He encouraged parents to enroll their children locally rather than seeking education outside Busoga, praising SPACK for upholding standards comparable to prestigious schools such as Seeta High and Namilyango.

Namutumba District Education Officer (DEO) Mohammed Isiko acknowledged SPACK's exemplary performance and the tangible results achieved by the school's leadership.

"Action speaks louder than words, and SPACK has set a high bar for the entire district," he said.

The event concluded with festive greetings for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr and Easter celebrations. Leaders urged the community to embrace agriculture during the rainy season and called on elected officials to prioritize service over politics.

The day also featured vibrant student performances, showcasing the talent and discipline nurtured at SPACK over the past decade.
