Uganda: Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Stabex Fuel Station On Bombo Road

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred in the early hours of Sunday at Stabex Fuel Station along Bombo Road in Wakiso District.

The incident happened at about 2:00 a.m. at the station in Namakonkome Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District.

According to police, a group of unidentified assailants armed with pangas and hammers attacked the station and robbed staff on duty.

"Preliminary findings indicate that a group of unidentified assailants, armed with pangas and hammers, attacked the fuel station and robbed a laptop, three mobile phones, and an unspecified amount of cash from staff on duty," the statement said.

Police added that officers were alerted and quickly responded to the scene.

"Our teams are actively pursuing all leads to arrest those responsible. Investigations into the matter are ongoing," police said.

The incident, which has circulated widely on social media through a viral video, occurred along the busy Bombo Road corridor connecting Kampala to several towns in central Uganda.

Police have not yet disclosed whether any suspects have been arrested as inquiries continue.
