With only a few days remaining until Eid al-Fitr, excitement is building among Muslims in Luweero as they prepare to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Kadhi of Luweero, Sheikh Ramadhan Mulindwa, has congratulated the Muslim community for successfully observing their holy month, praising their discipline, faith, and commitment to Allah.

In his message, Sheikh Mulindwa reminded believers that Ramadan is not only about fasting but also about generosity and compassion.

He strongly encouraged Muslims to fulfill their obligation of giving Zakat, saying, "As we conclude Ramadan, I urge every Muslim who is able to give Zakat and support those in need. This is a pillar of our faith and a way of purifying our wealth."

He further clarified how Zakat can be given, noting, "Zakat can be offered in the form of food items or money, depending on one's ability. What matters is reaching out to those in need at the right time."

He emphasized that helping the needy should not be limited by religion.

"Giving is not only for Muslims. Even non-Muslims can extend a hand to support Muslims in need. Humanity comes first, and we should all stand together in helping the vulnerable," he added.

The kadhi also applauded individuals who have been providing iftar meals and assisting disadvantaged groups such as widows and orphans, noting that such acts reflect the true spirit of Islam. He called on the community to maintain this generosity beyond Ramadan.

In addition, Sheikh Mulindwa encouraged Muslims to continue fasting even after Ramadan by observing the six days of Shawwal, as recommended in Islamic teachings.

"Do not stop at Ramadan. The Quran and teachings of Islam encourage us to fast additional days, such as the six days after Eid, to strengthen our faith and earn more blessings," he advised.

As Eid approaches, he wished all Muslims peace, good health, and blessings, urging them to celebrate responsibly while remembering those in need.
