Uganda: Johnnie Walker Unveils New Cultural Influencers Ahead of Afro Exchange Takeover

22 March 2026

Johnnie Walker Uganda on Saturday evening unveiled a new class of cultural influencers at Silo in Kampala, setting the tone for a season of music, fashion and nightlife-driven experiences.

The curated group includes television personality and DJ Lynda Dane, selector DJ Kas Baby, fashion creative Azarya, and event host MC Timothy Code--figures the brand says reflect the evolving face of Uganda's cultural scene.

Each of the newly unveiled "Walkers" brings a distinct identity to the collective. Lynda Dane continues to shape conversations across television and nightlife, while DJ Kas Baby has built a reputation for energising diverse audiences. Azarya represents a bold, emerging voice in fashion and creative expression, and MC Timothy Code is known for commanding live audiences with charisma and precision.

The group is positioned as an embodiment of the brand's ethos of progress, with Johnnie Walker highlighting their consistency, reinvention, and influence within their respective spaces.

Speaking at the event, Christine Kyokunda, Johnnie Walker East Africa Brand Manager, said the selection reflects individuals pushing cultural boundaries.

"At Johnnie Walker, we celebrate individuals who are constantly pushing boundaries and redefining culture through their craft. This new generation of Walkers represents the spirit of progress that sits at the heart of our brand," she said.

Beyond the unveiling, the event featured an immersive brand session, introducing the influencers to the heritage of the whisky, its flavour profiles, and the rituals associated with its consumption.

The mentorship-focused engagement is part of the brand's wider strategy to cultivate a community of creatives and tastemakers who not only represent but also embody its identity.

The announcement sets the stage for the upcoming Johnnie Walker Afro Exchange Takeover, scheduled for April 12 at Silo, where the newly unveiled influencers are expected to play a central role.
