The march forms part of the UPDF leadership's broader strategy to test and improve physical endurance, teamwork, resilience, and combat readiness among personnel.

Addressing the troops at the Division Headquarters, Commander Maj Gen Charles Byanyima emphasized that the exercise is a vital assessment of health, endurance, and operational preparedness, rather than a punitive measure.

"This exercise has demonstrated our physical endurance, discipline, teamwork, and operational readiness under load. It aligns with our constitutional mandate to protect lives, property, and the sovereignty of our country," Maj Gen Byanyima said.

He added that beyond conditioning, the march strengthens unity and collaboration among troops across all ranks.

The annual 30-kilometre route march is conducted on a rotational basis among tactical formations, ensuring consistent standards of readiness throughout the Division.

The exercise was attended by key officials, including Col Esibio Omaria, Motorized Infantry Division Operations and Training Officer; SP Niragire Steven; ASP Manirakiza Emmanuel; and other military personnel.
