Kenya: Nova Pioneer Expands Eldoret Campus With Primary School Launch

Nova Pioneer has announced plans to open a new primary school in Eldoret at the start of the 2027 academic year, expanding its footprint in the region and deepening its investment in skills-based education.

The pan-African network of independent schools, which operates in Kenya and South Africa, said the move builds on the success of its Boys and Girls High Schools in Eldoret, which opened in 2020 and have since posted strong academic results and earned recognition in innovation and entrepreneurship platforms.

The new school comes as more parents seek learning institutions that go beyond traditional academics to prepare children for the demands of the Competency-Based Education system and a fast-changing global environment.

Nova Pioneer said its model combines strong academic foundations with a focus on critical thinking, leadership and problem-solving skills.

"For children to truly fulfil their potential, strong foundations must be built early," said Dr. London Moore, Senior Director of Schools, East Africa. "Our goal is to partner with families in Eldoret to develop confident, capable young people who are not only academically strong, but also prepared to lead and innovate in the future."

The primary school will be located on Nova Pioneer's existing 20-acre Eldoret campus, allowing learners to transition seamlessly from primary to junior and senior school under one educational philosophy.

The school will offer the Kenyan curriculum using modern teaching methods designed to engage learners through interactive, student-centred classrooms that build both mastery and confidence.

Nova Pioneer said the decision to launch the primary school was driven by growing demand from families in the region seeking quality education closer to home.

The school will also incorporate the institution's Innovation and Leadership Programme, which exposes learners to real-world challenges and encourages creativity, collaboration and communication.

Students from the Eldoret campus have already posted notable achievements, including winning the Craydel Cup Public Choice Award and the Young Scientist Kenya 2025 competition, earning an opportunity to represent Kenya in Ireland at the start of 2026.

The school said its broader model has also seen Nova Pioneer alumni join more than 100 top universities worldwide and secure over $10 million in scholarships.

"Global competitiveness starts with strong foundations," said Hillary Tum, School Leader at Nova Pioneer Eldoret. "By embedding skills-based learning early, we are ensuring that our students are not only academically strong, but also equipped with the capabilities to navigate and lead in an increasingly global and dynamic world."

Nova Pioneer added that teacher development remains a central pillar of its model, with educators undergoing rigorous recruitment and training and receiving more than 100 hours of professional development annually.
