Uganda: Katikkiro Mayiga Urges Kingdom Officials to Uphold High Work Standards for Buganda's Development

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has called on officials serving in the Buganda Kingdom to maintain high standards in their work to advance the kingdom's development.

Mayiga noted that the slow pace of development in Uganda and across Africa is largely due to poor work standards in many sectors. He emphasized that improving the quality and efficiency of service delivery is key to achieving meaningful progress.

The Katikkiro made the remarks while closing a two-day retreat for leaders from various Buganda Kingdom institutions at Muteesa I Royal University in Mengo. During the retreat, officials reviewed their achievements and outlined plans they intend to implement in the near future.

Mayiga urged the kingdom's servants to carefully plan the activities they intend to carry out, establish proper systems, and continuously monitor progress as a way of maintaining quality in their work.

He also highlighted that the Buganda Kingdom has consistently operated with transparency, which, he said, explains the strong support the kingdom continues to receive from people in its various development initiatives.

At the same function, the Katikkiro also launched the official route for participants in the upcoming Kabaka Birthday Run, scheduled for April 12, as part of celebrations marking the birthday of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
