Uganda is currently hosting a high-level delegation of Chinese investors and industry representatives as part of the ongoing Uganda-China Coffee Investment and Destination Tour, a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and market linkages between the two countries.
The tour, organized by Uganda's Embassy in Beijing in collaboration with the Uganda Consulate in Guangzhou, is running from April 10 to April 23, 2026.
The delegation includes representatives from major Chinese firms such as Shandong Huajian Aluminum Group, Beijing Liujian Group Co., Ltd., Wuxi Jiangnan Cable Co., Ltd, Hainan Zhongyu International Cooperation Co., Ltd, Africa Cultural & Tourism Center, Beijing 7Sea Holidays International Travel Service Co., Ltd., Beijing Jubangbang Agriculture Co., Ltd, and Silk Road Global International Exhibition (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., among others.
During their visit, the delegation is expected to tour key economic and industrial sites across Uganda, including the Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, Liao Shen Industrial Park, and the Namanve Industrial Park. These engagements are aimed at exploring opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure development, and wider industrialisation.

The itinerary also includes agricultural value-chain engagements, particularly in Uganda's coffee sector. Investors are scheduled to visit the Ankole Coffee Producers Cooperative Union and a coffee processing facility in Bushenyi to assess opportunities in production, processing, and export expansion.
In addition, the delegation will explore Uganda's tourism potential through visits to major attractions such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Rwenzori Mountains National Park, and the Source of the Nile, among other destinations.
Officials say the tour underscores Uganda's commitment to positioning itself as a competitive destination for trade, tourism, and investment.
It also reflects growing bilateral cooperation between Uganda and China, particularly in agro-industrialisation, tourism development, mineral-based industrialisation, and science, technology, and innovation.
Speaking about the visit, Uganda's Ambassador to China, Oliver Wonekha, said the delegation marks a growing confidence among Chinese investors in Uganda's economic potential.
"I'm here today, happily leading a delegation of our Chinese friends and partners who are willing to work with us. Right here with me is Chairman Yao," she said.

She noted that Chairman Yao leads a team of 40 prospective investors drawn from sectors including coffee, tourism, agricultural industrialisation, mineral development, science, technology, and innovation.
"You all are aware of our ATMs, and this team is here to look for opportunities in those areas. So, it is a collaborative trip that we had last year in May--something similar but this time bigger--because the friends who came last time told their friends, family, and relatives about the beauty of Uganda and the prospects of doing business, partnering with us, and supporting us in our programme," she added.
