At the sidelines of the ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) Leaders' Retreat in Kyankwanzi, President Museveni has commissioned the construction of the Rtd Gen Caleb Akandwanaho School of Research and the Walter Rodney Block.

Akandanwaho, who is better known as Salim Saleh, is Museveni's brother and a former bush war combatant and NRA hero.

The newly commissioned complex is envisioned as a strategic hub for advancing Pan-African integration, promoting African culture, and fostering ideological discourse.

According to officials, the facility will serve as a forum for intellectual engagement and the sustained advancement of ideas shaping Africa's socio-political and economic transformation.

A key component of the development will be a revolutionary museum dedicated to preserving and transmitting the history of Uganda and Africa's liberation struggles.

The museum is expected to play a corrective role in documenting historical narratives while safeguarding the continent's heritage for future generations.

The complex also pays tribute to Gen. Salim Saleh's evolution from a frontline mobilizer during Uganda's liberation struggle to a leading figure in championing economic transformation.

His current work aligns with the principles of "musevenomics," an ideological framework associated with President Museveni that emphasizes wealth creation, self-reliance, and structural economic change.

Leaders attending the Kyankwanzi retreat have described the project as a significant milestone in strengthening ideological clarity within the National Resistance Movement and reinforcing Uganda's contribution to broader Pan-African thought and action.
