Uganda: Love Hunt Intensifies On 'Hello Mr Right' As Reality Show Gains Momentum in Season Three

The search for love continues to gather pace on "Hello Mr Right," with the latest season of the dating reality show delivering more than televised romance as contestants navigate increasingly emotional and unpredictable connections.

Since its premiere on March 15, 2026, the show has steadily built a loyal audience, airing every Sunday, with its third season introducing fresh twists, heightened drama and shifting relationships that have strengthened its appeal among fans of locally produced reality television.

Producers say the current season has taken a more engaging direction, where contestants are not only competing for attention but forming real-time emotional bonds that evolve with each episode.

That sense of immediacy has already produced outcomes. Each week, at least one of the 12 women on the podium secures a match, leaving the show with a consistent rhythm of connections and rejections.

Among the standout moments was Shamim's choice of a young Chinese contestant, Jimmy, popularly known as "Handsome Jimmy," whose humour and lively personality quickly made him a favourite among viewers and participants alike.

Despite attracting interest from several women, it was Shamim who ultimately won his attention. Reflecting on her choice, she told hosts Mr Henry and Zahara ToTo, "Well, we are all here to find our Mr Right, yes? So that does not matter, the guy is mine."

Her comment drew laughter and applause from the studio audience.

Not every contestant has been successful. Some have faced outright rejection, including musician and MC King Shortie and comedian and content creator Kasule David, also known as Davo Omugeye, who was turned down by all the women on the podium.

Asked about his experience, Davo said, "Gold is not in every house but salt is everywhere. It's their loss to miss out on a handsome man like me," adding, "You are myopic."

Beyond the romantic encounters, the show has introduced new elements aimed at deepening viewer engagement, including an observation room where friends and family watch interactions unfold in real time and comment on contestants' behaviour, choices and chemistry.

Their reactions to first impressions, awkward exchanges and emotional decisions have added a new layer of scrutiny and entertainment to the format.

"We chose to partner with Startimes for 'Hello Mr Right' Season 3 because of its emphasis on authentic emotion and shared experience," said Rochart Kaweesa, Brand Manager at V&A.

"It brings to life the very moments V&A stands for, accepting and empowering one another, and sharing moments where connection forms."

Despite early matches, the competition remains open as the season moves toward its June finale, with more episodes expected to deliver new pairings, reversals and unexpected outcomes.

At its core, the show continues to lean on a simple premise: that meaningful connection can emerge in unexpected places, even under the glare of studio lights and a watching audience.
