Kenya: End of the Road for Real Estate Firm Kings Pride

Nairobi — Real estate developer Kings Pride Properties Limited has officially been placed under liquidation following a High Court ruling, marking the collapse of the property firm after years of legal and financial troubles.

According to a gazette notice dated May 8, 2026, the High Court's Commercial and Tax Division issued a liquidation order against the company in Insolvency Petition No. E174 of 2019.

The court also appointed Mohamed Mohamed as the liquidator under the Insolvency Act.

The notice states that all affairs and assets of Kings Pride Properties are now vested in the liquidator, effectively stripping the company's directors of powers to transact or deal with company assets without approval from the court or the liquidator.

Creditors and individuals with claims against the company have been directed to submit details and supporting documents to the liquidator within 30 days from the date of the notice.

The liquidation order also bars creditors from starting or continuing legal proceedings against the company or its assets without permission from the court, in line with provisions of the Insolvency Act.
