Following her victory, Nyinakiiza took the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Office before receiving the instruments of authority from Robert Mugabe.

The items handed over included the district council stamp, mace, bell, Local Government Act, Constitution, standard rules of procedure, gown and office keys.

In her acceptance speech, Nyinakiiza thanked councillors for once again entrusting her with the leadership of the district council.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank the councillors for again entrusting me with the speakership role," Nyinakiiza said.

She also announced that the new term would be her final one as Speaker of Kabale District Council."I also want to tell all of you that this is my last term for me to be Speaker of Kabale District," she added.

Shortly after assuming office, Nyinakiiza presided over the election of the Deputy Speaker.

Kazemera replaces Ronald Mugisha Ian, who recently contested for the Kabale Municipality mayoral seat but lost to incumbent mayor Emmanuel Byamugisha Sentaro in the general elections.
