Uganda: Rukiga MP Katabaazi Calls for Mindset Change On Service Delivery

Patrick Kiconco Katabaazi, the Member of Parliament for Rukiga County, has called for a mindset change among residents, urging them to prioritize accessing services at the district level before seeking intervention from higher offices.

Katabaazi made the remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of the Rukiga District LC5 chairperson and district councillors.

He said residents should first seek available services from district authorities before appealing directly to the President. He also challenged district technical staff to focus on service delivery rather than politics and to work together for the development of the district.

"As your MP, I will advocate for the establishment of a district hospital in Rukiga within the next five years. It will improve access to healthcare for residents who currently travel long distances," Katabaazi said.

He added that Rukiga is fortunate to have Members of Parliament with strong connections and lobbying capacity to attract development projects to the district.

Katabaazi emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among leaders to ensure effective service delivery and sustainable development for the people of Rukiga.
