Uganda: Kigezi Police Receive Troop Carrier to Strengthen Regional Operations

The Uganda Police Force in the Kigezi region has received a troop carrier vehicle to strengthen policing operations and improve service delivery across the area.

Kigezi Regional Police Commander Alex Wabwire said the vehicle was delivered on Wednesday morning and officially received by regional police leadership at the headquarters in Kabale.

"We express gratitude to Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba and his team for allocating the vehicle to Kigezi," Wabwire said.

The newly acquired vehicle, a blue Toyota Isuzu lorry bearing registration number UP00287, will be used to facilitate policing activities, troop movement, and other operational duties within the region.

Police officials said the addition of the troop carrier is expected to improve mobility and response capabilities, especially during security operations and public order management.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts by the Uganda Police Force to strengthen logistical capacity in different regions to support effective law enforcement and community safety.
